Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • one to three months related experience and/or training
  • ability to work specified hours including evenings and weekends
  • visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
  • effective communication skills
  • ability to understand and distinguish speech and other sounds
  • ability to follow safety protocols
  • ability to perform essential job functions satisfactorily
  • willingness to work PRN schedule
  • commitment to confidentiality
  • ability to comply with CMS, Joint Commission, DHHS, and OSHA guidelines

Job Duties

  • Cleans and stores dishes according to set departmental standards
  • completes cleaning process in an efficient and timely manner
  • utilizes chemicals appropriately
  • maintains work area by sweeping floor, mopping, sanitizing counters, and taking out garbage
  • correctly serves foods and assembles trays for residents adhering to specific diet alterations
  • completes assigned daily cleaning schedule within department including individual work area and storage areas
  • successfully demonstrates required competencies on unit specific checklist
  • follows safe food handling procedures and HACCP guidelines
  • abides by schedule and select menus for residents
  • follows dish room, pot and pan procedures using chemicals and sanitization methods
