Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Must be able to pass all required tests and training for the position
Must be able to stand and walk for 4 to 8 hour shifts
Ability to lift and carry supplies and equipment up to 30 pounds
Ability to raise a tray weighing up to 25 pounds to shoulder height
Must have sufficient mobility and ability to bend, stoop, reach, and wipe
Must be able to hear in a noisy environment to respond to employee and guest needs
Must meet all health and food handling regulations
Must be able to operate point of sale system
Must be able to work around potentially hazardous chemicals
Must value diversity and show respect for others

Job Qualifications

Ability to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing
Possess excellent guest service skills
Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
Ability to work in a team environment
Ability to meet Denny's uniform and grooming standards throughout the shift
Flexibility to work holidays, nights, and weekends
Dependable and able to learn basic tasks and follow instructions
Minimum age of 21 for locations that free pour alcoholic beverages

Job Duties

Greet guests immediately upon arrival and acknowledge them at departure
Assist with guests seating using proper arrival order and rotation procedures
Suggestively sell menu items to achieve guest check average targets
Accurately enter orders on the point of sale system
Prepare beverage orders and some appetizers, salads, and desserts
Deliver food and beverage orders timely and in accordance with standards
Attend to guests during the entire dining experience in a prompt and courteous manner
Pre-bus tables in a timely manner
clear, clean, and preset tables promptly upon guests departure
Address complaints and requests promptly in a courteous manner and notify the supervisor of any issues
Demonstrate safe cash handling procedures and accurately complete cash, credit card, and discount transactions
Maintain cleanliness and organization of dining room and service area
Complete all required side-work including deep cleaning assignments
Provide prompt and courteous service while adhering to Denny's brand standards and internal policies
