Job Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of service experience
  • able to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of our guests
  • basic knowledge of dining room and service procedures
  • possess basic math skills
  • able to handle money and operate a micros system
  • able to work in standing position for long periods (up to 5 hours)
  • able to safely lift and maneuver trays weighing 20 to 25 pounds

Job Duties

  • Welcome and greet guests within 30 seconds
  • make all guests feel comfortable and let them know you are there to personally take care of them
  • introduce yourself
  • inform guests of specials and menu changes
  • make recommendations guests will enjoy
  • answer questions about food, beverages, and restaurant functions
  • take food and beverage orders and enter them accurately into the micros system
  • deliver food and beverages promptly
  • perform side work at beginning and end of shifts
  • anticipate guests' needs such as napkins and drink refills
  • build regulars
  • maintain clean service areas and pre-bus tables
  • monitor and observe guests’ dining experience, ensure satisfaction
  • prepare final bill and process payment
  • check back frequently after presenting the check
  • assist fellow servers and bus persons/hostesses as needed
  • thank guests and invite them to return
  • be available to fill in as needed for smooth restaurant operations
