Job Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of service experience
  • Ability to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of guests
  • Basic knowledge of dining room and service procedures
  • Possess basic math skills and ability to handle money and operate a micros system
  • Ability to stand for long periods
  • Ability to safely lift and maneuver trays weighing up to 20 to 25 pounds

Job Duties

  • Welcome and greet guests within 30 seconds
  • Make all guests feel comfortable and personally taken care of
  • Introduce yourself to guests
  • Inform guests of specials and menu changes
  • Make genuine recommendations based on guest preferences
  • Answer questions about food, beverages, and restaurant services
  • Take food and beverage orders and enter them accurately into the micros system
  • Deliver food and beverages promptly, including 1-minute drink orders
  • Perform side work at the start and end of shifts
  • Anticipate guests' needs such as napkins and drink refills
  • Build regular customers
  • Maintain clean service areas and pre bus tables
  • Monitor guests' dining experiences and ensure satisfaction
  • Prepare final bill and process payments accurately
  • Check back promptly after delivering the check
  • Assist fellow servers and bus persons/hostesses as needed
  • Thank guests and invite them to return
  • Be available to fill in roles to ensure smooth restaurant operations
