Job Requirements

  • Previous experience waiting tables preferred but not required
  • ability to follow established steps of service
  • reliable and punctual
  • strong customer service orientation
  • ability to work flexible hours including weekends
  • capable of standing for extended periods
  • ability to communicate effectively with guests and staff
  • basic math skills for cash handling

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • previous experience in a food service or hospitality role preferred
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation guidelines
  • ability to handle cash and operate point-of-sale systems
  • basic understanding of specialized diets and allergens preferred

Job Duties

  • Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
  • takes food and beverage orders efficiently following established steps of service
  • delivers food promptly and professionally while maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards
  • demonstrates complete understanding of menu items and ingredients and advises guests on appropriate food and drink combinations
  • communicates with back-of-the-house staff to ensure orders are correct and special requests are accommodated
  • collects tickets and follows proper cash-handling procedures
  • promotes a clean, safe and neat environment for guests
  • promptly addresses complaints or issues and relays information to supervisors
  • ensures dining room setup before and after service periods
  • operates equipment such as telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells and coffee machines
  • works with staff from other departments during special events
  • performs other duties as assigned
