Job Requirements

  • must be 18 years or older
  • ability to stand and walk for up to four hours
  • mobility required during entire shift
  • ability to bend, kneel, lift, and carry trays and pans frequently weighing up to 25 pounds
  • ability to transport plates, glasses, baskets, and glass racks up to 25 pounds about 15-30 times per shift
  • ability to maintain balance and work efficiently in a busy restaurant environment

Job Qualifications

  • good communication skills
  • ability to read, write, and perform basic math
  • previous experience in a restaurant server, waiter, waitress, or runner role preferred but not required
  • ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • strong customer service attitude
  • ability to follow restaurant service steps
  • basic computer skills for point-of-sale systems

Job Duties

  • delivers food and drinks to guests using Applebee's team delivery system
  • greet guests, answers questions, makes suggestions regarding food, drinks, and service
  • interacts verbally with all guests creating a friendly and upbeat atmosphere
  • relays orders to service bar and kitchen via the point-of-sale computerized register system
  • observes guests and responds to any additional requests
  • presents guest check to each table and accepts a form of payment, makes correct change and/or completes the proper charge card procedures
  • participates in the clearing and resetting of dining room tables
