Job Requirements
- Culinary education or equivalent professional experience
- Progressive leadership experience in kitchen or culinary operations
- Experience in catering or large-scale food production environments
- Ability to work in high-volume foodservice operations
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Basic computer proficiency
- ServSafe certification preferred
- Ability to mentor and lead kitchen teams
- Flexible and solution-oriented mindset
Job Qualifications
- Culinary education such as an A.O.S. Degree in Culinary Arts, culinary certificate, or equivalent professional experience
- Progressive culinary or kitchen leadership experience with exposure to production, catering, or event-based operations
- Experience in catering or large-scale food production environments
- Comfort working in high-volume, complex foodservice operations
- Knowledge of current food and catering trends, quality, production, sanitation, food cost control, and presentation
- Experience with institutional or batch cooking environments
- Ability to use basic computer applications including Microsoft Office, Outlook, and email
- ServSafe certification highly desirable
- Collaborative, solution-oriented approach and enthusiasm for learning, mentoring, and continuous improvement
Job Duties
- Support the Executive Chef in daily leadership of the culinary department
- Oversee and execute daily food production for the Commissary, catering, and events
- Lead culinary execution for catered events ensuring quality and timeliness
- Assist with menu planning and development
- Manage food and labor costs, inventory, ordering and forecasting
- Train, onboard, and mentor new culinary associates
- Supervise hourly associates providing direction, feedback, and coaching
- Uphold all health, safety, and sanitation standards
- Support rollout of new culinary programs and initiatives
- Maintain organization and discipline in a fast-paced environment while modeling professionalism and teamwork
