Job Requirements
- must possess IMSA Signals Level I Certification
- high school diploma or G.E.D
- two years of related traffic signal installation experience
- one year of team lead or supervisory experience
- must have a valid motor vehicle driver license
- must pass pre-employment drug test
- must pass criminal history check
- must pass motor vehicle records check
- must obtain Class A CDL within 6 months of employment
- must obtain Work Zone Safety Certification within 1 year of employment
- must obtain IMSA Signals Level II Certification within 1 year of employment
Job Qualifications

- knowledge of construction principles
- knowledge of basic electronic and electrical principles
- knowledge of general design standards
- knowledge of pertinent federal, state and local laws and ordinances related to roadway, lighting and traffic signal operations

- skilled in reading and interpreting schematics and blueprints
- skilled in troubleshooting and resolving traffic signal problems
- skilled in applying independent judgment and resourcefulness
- skilled in operating trade tools and equipment
- skilled in routine repair and maintenance activities
- skilled in construction activities and manual labor
- skilled in observing safety rules
- skilled in operating computer software
- skilled in communication
- ability to work with varying voltages
- ability to change electrical components in lighting

Job Duties
- Serves as a lead to signal crew staff, prioritizing, assigning, and monitoring work
- installing, maintaining, and repairing traffic signals, school zone flashers, and street lighting
- responding to emergency and on-call situations
- preparing and maintaining records related to repairs and operations
- training signal crew staff on work and safety procedures
- participating in meetings and committees
- performing inspections of work by external contractors
- monitoring contractor compliance with contract terms
- troubleshooting and repairing traffic signal equipment
- inspecting operational intersections to ensure proper signal function
- documenting equipment malfunctions and resolutions
- patrolling streets to identify signal repairs
- performing routine maintenance on traffic control devices
- reading and interpreting schematics and blueprints
- replacing parts such as load switches and relays
- making recommendations and carrying out plans with supervisor approval
- maintaining daily work records and work orders
- purchasing equipment through P-Card and purchase orders
- managing inventory of vehicles and warehouse
- erecting barricades, cones, and warning devices
- implementing safety procedures at job sites
- performing manual traffic and pedestrian counts
- assisting in roadway lighting as needed
- performing line locates for underground equipment
- performing other duties as assigned
