Job Requirements
- two years of experience in recreation or senior programming
- bachelor’s degree preferred in recreation management, physical education, recreation and leisure studies, or a related field
- valid driver’s license or ability to obtain one within ninety days of employment or military waiver
- ability to travel to other work locations
- ability to work outdoors in extreme heat and cold
- capability to lift up to 50 pounds
- strong communication skills
- ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
- knowledge of first aid practices and safety protocols
Job Qualifications
- Two years of experience in recreation or senior programming
- bachelor’s degree preferred in Recreation Management, Physical Education, Recreation and Leisure studies, or a related field
- valid driver’s license or ability to obtain one within 90 days
- strong knowledge of planning and directing group, social, and recreational activities for seniors
- effective communication skills
- ability to implement and evaluate programs
- customer service orientation
- ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
- ability to respond to emergencies
Job Duties
- Develop, direct, and supervise programs and special events for senior citizens
- publicize programs and initiatives
- initiate and teach classes as needed
- provide accurate and timely customer services
- respond to requests for information
- oversee facility patrons
- plan, organize, conduct, and coordinate a variety of programs, classes, special events, and presentations for the Senior Services Division
- prepare various reports and promotional materials
- collaborate with community organizations, businesses, and service providers
- ensure procedures and rules are followed at the Rose Park Senior Center
- assist in planning and developing future senior center improvements and recreation programs
- recruit class instructors and volunteers
- perform other job-related duties as assigned
