Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Hotel Management preferred
  • minimum of 3-5 years of hospitality sales experience
  • experience with properties of equivalent size and quality, preferably four-star/four-diamond or five-star/five-diamond properties
  • ability to stand for long hours during events
  • ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards
  • ability to lift and carry parcels and materials up to 25 pounds
  • ability to walk short distances and drive a vehicle to deliver and pick up materials
  • ability to stand, walk, sit, talk, hear, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects or controls, reach with hands and arms
  • regularly required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, and lift items weighing up to twenty-five pounds
  • specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision, and ability to adjust focus
  • must be able to respond to visual and oral cues and communicate verbally with staff and guests
  • ability to work inside or outside the building as needed by events
  • willingness to travel as necessary

  • availability to work extended workweeks including weekends and holidays as needed

Job Duties

  • Provide the highest quality of service to the customer at all times
  • quick and timely responses to all calls, emails, and leads (no later than 24 hours)
  • solicit and secure business for the hotel through a proactive, focused sales approach using all available technology
  • develop strong, professional long-term business relationships
  • attend networking events and become a member of civic organizations and/or industry associations
  • maintain accurate information and revenues in appropriate databases to ensure accurate forecasting
  • create and maintain organized files with all required information
  • attend BEO and other departmental meetings
  • work closely with the Catering Department on operations and event execution
  • be on-site to greet all groups upon arrival and be visible throughout their event to ensure satisfaction
  • follow-up with clients post-event to ensure satisfaction and address challenges
  • coordinate with various departments to communicate necessary feedback
  • follow through on billing to ensure collection of monies
  • assist other sales/catering managers with site inspections as needed
  • participate in property-specific customer functions
  • assist with reporting as necessary
  • provide sales support during shows and help drive sales initiatives
  • wear professional attire and represent the property to the best ability
  • maintain a positive, cooperative work environment in alignment with company values
  • perform any other duties assigned by immediate supervisor or General Manager
