Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's or equivalent in Hotel Management preferred
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of hospitality sales experience required
  • Experience with properties of equivalent size and quality, notably four-star/four-diamond or five-star/five-diamond properties
  • Ability to move around the facility and stand for long hours during events
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards
  • Ability to lift and carry parcels, packages, and other items
  • Required to stand, walk, sit, talk, and hear in person and by telephone
  • Must be able to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, and lift up to 25 pounds
  • Must be able to use hands for finger, handle or feel objects or controls
  • Specific vision abilities required including close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision, and ability to adjust focus
  • Must be able to communicate verbally with staff and guests
  • May require work inside or outside the building and travel as necessary for events

Job Qualifications

  • Advanced ability to comprehend and speak English to understand and respond to information both verbally and in writing
  • Must be able to lead, motivate, and relate to others
  • Must be customer service oriented and have excellent hospitality skills
  • Must display a warm, friendly demeanor
  • Knowledge of Dining areas and competitive market
  • Ability to convert vision into specific and tangible actions to benefit the hotel and banquet space
  • Must be well-groomed and meet dress code requirements
  • Must possess clear, concise written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs and Point of Sales systems
  • Working knowledge of Tripleseat and Open Table
  • An innate desire to exceed guest expectations and have an uncompromising approach to service and follow through
  • Candidates may be called upon to work extended workweeks, including weekends or holidays

Job Duties

  • Provide the highest quality of service to the customer at all times
  • Quick and timely responses to all calls, emails, and leads no later than 24 hours
  • Solicit and secure business for the Hotel through a proactive, focused sales approach using all available technology to identify comp set accounts and new customers
  • Develop strong, professional long-term business relationships
  • Attend networking events and become a member of civic organizations and/or industry associations
  • Maintain accurate information and revenues in appropriate databases at all times
  • Create and maintain neatly organized files with all required and appropriate information
  • Attend all BEO meetings and all other departmental meetings set forth by GM or DOSM
  • Work closely with the Catering Department on operations and event execution
  • Be on-site to greet all groups upon arrival
  • onsite and visible to groups throughout their event
  • Follow-up with clients after function by phone to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Follow-up with various departments to ensure any necessary feedback is communicated
  • Follow through on billing to ensure all monies are collected
  • Assist other sales/catering managers with site inspections as required
  • Participate in all property-specific customer functions
  • Assist with reporting as necessary
  • Provide sales support during shows and help drive sales initiatives
  • Wear professional attire and always represent the property to the best of your ability
  • Maintain a positive, cooperative work environment between staff and management by company values
  • Any other duties or activities set forth by the immediate supervisor or General Manager
