Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 4 years experience in sales and marketing, guest services, front desk, or related area
- OR 2-year degree from accredited university in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major
- 2 years experience in sales and marketing or related professional area
- Preferred large group sales experience
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Ability to conduct site inspections
- Experience with budgeting and forecasting
- Strong customer service orientation
- Ability to multi-task and work collaboratively
- Availability to work full time on site in Oakland, California
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED with 4 years of experience in sales, marketing, guest services or related area
- OR 2-year degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management or related major with 2 years of experience
- Preferred: large group sales experience
- Strong negotiating and communication skills
- Ability to build and maintain relationships
- Knowledge of market conditions and competitors
- Proficient in developing and implementing sales and marketing plans
- Skilled in customer service excellence and problem resolution
- Experience with forecasting and budgeting
- Ability to work collaboratively within teams
Job Duties
- Acts as the on-property liaison for group sales within peak room parameters
- Contracts and closes group business
- Conducts site inspections
- Verifies timely and quality turnover to Event Management
- Achieves group revenue goals by up-selling opportunities
- Develops group sales revenue and operation budgets
- Partners with Area Sales to identify new business
- Implements brand service strategies and initiatives
- Builds and strengthens customer relationships
- Provides excellent customer service to drive satisfaction and loyalty
- Works collaboratively with sales and operations teams
- Participates in pre- and post-convention meetings
- Monitors same-day selling to maximize room revenue
- Resolves guest issues from sales process
- Performs other duties as assigned
