Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 4 years experience in sales and marketing, guest services, front desk, or related area
  • OR 2-year degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major
  • 2 years experience in sales and marketing or related area
  • Preferred experience in large group sales
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Ability to manage budgets
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to conduct site inspections
  • Must be able to work full time at New Orleans Marriott location

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with 4 years experience in sales and marketing, guest services, front desk, or related professional area
  • OR 2-year degree from accredited university in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major with 2 years experience in sales and marketing or related area
  • Preferred experience in large group sales
  • Strong negotiation and creative selling skills
  • Ability to develop and manage sales revenue and operation budgets
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficient in customer service and able to implement brand standards
  • Experience working collaboratively within a team and across departments
  • Knowledge of market conditions, competitor analysis, and economic trends

Job Duties

  • Act as the on-property liaison for group sales within peak room parameters
  • Contract and close group business
  • Conduct site inspections
  • Verify timely and proper business turnover for quality service delivery
  • Achieve group revenue goals by actively up-selling each business opportunity
  • Implement brand’s service strategies and initiatives throughout the sales process
  • Build and strengthen relationships with customers to enable future bookings
