Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 4 years experience in sales and marketing, guest services, front desk, or related area
- OR 2-year degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major
- 2 years experience in sales and marketing or related area
- Preferred experience in large group sales
- Strong negotiation skills
- Ability to manage budgets
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to conduct site inspections
- Must be able to work full time at New Orleans Marriott location
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED with 4 years experience in sales and marketing, guest services, front desk, or related professional area
- OR 2-year degree from accredited university in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major with 2 years experience in sales and marketing or related area
- Preferred experience in large group sales
- Strong negotiation and creative selling skills
- Ability to develop and manage sales revenue and operation budgets
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficient in customer service and able to implement brand standards
- Experience working collaboratively within a team and across departments
- Knowledge of market conditions, competitor analysis, and economic trends
Job Duties
- Act as the on-property liaison for group sales within peak room parameters
- Contract and close group business
- Conduct site inspections
- Verify timely and proper business turnover for quality service delivery
- Achieve group revenue goals by actively up-selling each business opportunity
- Implement brand’s service strategies and initiatives throughout the sales process
- Build and strengthen relationships with customers to enable future bookings
