Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Four years experience in sales and marketing, guest services, front desk, or related area
  • OR two-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management or related major
  • Two years experience in sales and marketing or related area
  • Preferred experience in large group sales
  • Ability to conduct site inspections
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet revenue goals
  • Effective communication skills
  • Commitment to customer service excellence

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with four years experience in sales and marketing or related area
  • OR two-year degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management or related major with two years experience
  • Preferred large group sales experience
  • Strong negotiation and creative selling skills
  • Ability to conduct site inspections and manage customer relationships
  • Experience working collaboratively with sales and event teams
  • Knowledge of market conditions and competitor analysis
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Job Duties

  • Acts as the on-property liaison for group sales within peak room parameters
  • Contracts and closes group business
  • Conducts site inspections
  • Ensures timely and quality turnover of business for event management
  • Achieves group revenue goals by upselling opportunities
  • Develops group sales revenue and operation budgets
  • Partners with area sales and event management to ensure customer experience
  • Executes Marriott’s customer service and brand standards
  • Monitors same day selling procedures to maximize revenue
  • Builds and strengthens customer relationships to enable future bookings
  • Implements brand’s service strategy throughout the sales process
