Job Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited four year college or university
- Minimum of five years sports and tourism sales and marketing related experience
- Established contacts in the sports and tourism industry
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to secure a Florida driver’s license at the time of employment
- Willingness to travel extensively
- Physical, developmental, and mental ability to perform job tasks
- Ability to report for work during declared emergencies in Polk County
Job Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited four year college or university
- Minimum of five years sports and tourism sales and marketing related experience
- Established contacts in the sports and tourism industry
- Valid driver’s license with the ability to secure a Florida driver’s license
- Proficiency with CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Public speaking abilities
- Experience in budget preparation and tactical sales strategies
Job Duties
- Develops and implements tourism sales and marketing plans
- Travels extensively domestically and internationally to promote Polk County
- Plans and coordinates sales missions in key target markets
- Assists with budgeting, financial control, and analysis
- Directs staff at trade shows
- Serves as liaison to tourism industry partners and commercial airlines
- Coordinates and manages Polk County owned and co-owned special events
- Organizes Familiarization tours for travel professionals
- Develops and maintains contact lists for clients and prospects
- Assists with management oversight of Client Service Coordinators and interns
