Job Requirements

  • bachelors degree in relevant field
  • 3-5 years of progressive healthcare experience
  • strong clinical background
  • experience working in large and complex healthcare organization preferred
  • advanced knowledge of MS Office products
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • project management skills
  • ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • flexibility and adaptability in a changing environment
  • commitment to patient safety and quality improvement

Job Duties

  • coordinate patient safety event management collaboratively with leadership and committees
  • facilitate the medical peer review process
  • analyze serious patient concerns and unexpected clinical outcomes
  • identify trends using data to improve quality systems and performance
  • participate in the analysis of adverse events and follow-up on regulatory agency visits
  • recommend corrective and preventive actions to reduce risk
  • participate in educational offerings to maintain current knowledge
  • work independently with minimal supervision
  • assist in review and development of hospital policies
  • participate in hospital patient safety initiatives
  • identify barriers to improvement and develop strategies
  • transfer patient safety concepts to hospital-wide initiatives
  • provide staff education on patient safety and error prevention
  • prepare presentations for committees and clinical groups
  • participate in training and mentoring quality and safety team members
  • perform other duties as assigned
