Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience
  • 8+ years construction safety experience
  • 2+ years people management experience
  • Valid and unrestricted driver's license
  • Strong communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office and safety software
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and enforcement
  • Ability to perform work accurately and timely
  • Experience with safety audits and accident investigations

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, construction management or related field
  • Relevant construction safety experience
  • People management experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Advanced proficiency in company safety software and SIMS
  • Knowledge of federal, state, local safety regulations
  • Ability to recognize and mitigate hazardous situations
  • Experience with noise and contaminant testing protocols
  • Intermediate proficiency in construction technology
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships within teams

Job Duties

  • Manages and implements the field safety program and team for construction projects
  • Communicates safety philosophies and values with safety team members, foremen, superintendents, and project managers
  • Acts as a resource to interpret company, owner and government policies
  • Compiles accident statistics and recommends changes to safety programs
  • Administers and monitors drug and alcohol testing programs
  • Implements accident and incident reporting protocols
  • Assists in accident investigations and ensures proper documentation and abatement
  • Works with external insurance contacts on safety-related claims
  • Conducts regular safety audits and reports hazardous conditions
  • Develops and implements training strategies
  • Leads and promotes a culture of diversity and inclusion
  • Plans and manages field safety programs at division level for senior role
  • Represents company during OSHA and insurance inspections
  • Leads serious accident investigations
  • Supports safety and health program design and implementation
  • Manages Worker’s Compensation claims and drug and alcohol programs
  • Acts as liaison for worker’s compensation matters
  • Provides safety information for project proposals
  • Reports safety and claims statistics to senior management
  • Attends operational safety meetings
