Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience
- 8+ years construction safety experience
- 2+ years people management experience
- Valid and unrestricted driver's license
- Strong communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Office and safety software
- Knowledge of safety regulations and enforcement
- Ability to perform work accurately and timely
- Experience with safety audits and accident investigations
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, construction management or related field
- Relevant construction safety experience
- People management experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Advanced proficiency in company safety software and SIMS
- Knowledge of federal, state, local safety regulations
- Ability to recognize and mitigate hazardous situations
- Experience with noise and contaminant testing protocols
- Intermediate proficiency in construction technology
- Ability to build collaborative relationships within teams
Job Duties
- Manages and implements the field safety program and team for construction projects
- Communicates safety philosophies and values with safety team members, foremen, superintendents, and project managers
- Acts as a resource to interpret company, owner and government policies
- Compiles accident statistics and recommends changes to safety programs
- Administers and monitors drug and alcohol testing programs
- Implements accident and incident reporting protocols
- Assists in accident investigations and ensures proper documentation and abatement
- Works with external insurance contacts on safety-related claims
- Conducts regular safety audits and reports hazardous conditions
- Develops and implements training strategies
- Leads and promotes a culture of diversity and inclusion
- Plans and manages field safety programs at division level for senior role
- Represents company during OSHA and insurance inspections
- Leads serious accident investigations
- Supports safety and health program design and implementation
- Manages Worker’s Compensation claims and drug and alcohol programs
- Acts as liaison for worker’s compensation matters
- Provides safety information for project proposals
- Reports safety and claims statistics to senior management
- Attends operational safety meetings
