Job Requirements
- 8+ years construction safety experience
- 2+ years people management experience
- valid and unrestricted driver's license required
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in occupational safety, health, or construction management or related field
- advanced verbal and written communication skills
- proficiency in MS Office
- knowledge of federal, state, local, and company safety regulations
- advanced proficiency in company safety software and tools
- proficiency in Site Information Management System (SIMS)
- ability to recognize hazardous situations and implement corrective measures
- knowledge of testing protocols for noise, contaminants, and environmental hazards
- proficiency in construction technology
- ability to build relationships and collaborate within a team
- relevant experience considered in lieu of degree
Job Duties
- Manages and implements the field safety program for construction projects
- communicates safety philosophies and values with safety team members and project staff
- acts as a resource to interpret safety policies and recommendations
- compiles accident statistics and recommends program changes
- administers and monitors drug and alcohol testing programs
- implements accident and incident reporting protocols
- assists in accident and incident investigations and ensures proper documentation
- works with insurance contacts for safety-related claims
- conducts regular safety audits and recommends hazard abatement
- develops and implements training strategies to support safety objectives
- monitors safety metrics and identifies training improvements
- provides in-person and virtual training sessions
- leads and promotes a culture of diversity and inclusion
- plans and manages field safety programs for the division (senior role)
- represents the company during insurance and OSHA inspections
- leads serious accident investigations
- helps design and implement Company Safety and Health Program
- manages drug and alcohol programs and workers' compensation claims
- acts as liaison for worker's compensation matters
- attends claim reviews and operational meetings
- provides safety information for project proposals
- reports safety and claims statistics to senior management
