Job Requirements

  • bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years managing multi-jurisdiction license and permit renewals for large national retailers or similar organizations
  • in-depth knowledge of regulatory compliance for alcoholic beverage control, health permits, and hazardous materials
  • strong analytical and documentation skills
  • ability to handle complex regulatory texts and convert them into actionable processes
  • excellent communication and training abilities
  • ability to work independently and as part of a team

Job Qualifications

  • 5+ years of direct experience managing multi-jurisdiction license and permit renewals for a large national retailer, restaurant, or quick-service chain
  • expert knowledge of complex license renewals including Alcoholic Beverage Control, Health Department Permits, and Hazardous Materials
  • proven ability to interpret and document complex regulatory text into clear, actionable business rules
  • strong grasp of the license renewal lifecycle from application to closeout and archival
  • ideal candidate will be located in or near the Chesapeake, VA area but this is not mandatory

Job Duties

  • Define, document, and categorize all mandatory license renewal criteria, supporting documents, lead times, and required fees
  • create a definitive map of all inter-license dependencies to inform system workflow logic
  • identify and document key variances in renewal processes across different states and municipalities
  • act as the Tier 3 expert for all complex jurisdictional compliance questions during design, configuration, and pilot phases
  • serve as the primary instructor to train the offshore process transition lead and platform configuration specialist on core licensing processes and critical non-compliance risks
