Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Minimum 7 years experience in logistics or distribution environment
- Minimum 5 years supervisory experience
- Ability to work in variable warehouse temperatures
- Must have strong leadership and organizational skills
- Proficient with WMS and related software
- Ability to manage budgets and meet financial targets
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Commitment to safety and regulatory compliance
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 7 years experience in logistics, distribution, or relevant environment
- 5 years experience in a supervisory role
- Ability to work in unregulated warehouse temperatures
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Proficient in managing warehouse operations and logistics
- Experience in managing budgets and financial controls
- Knowledge of safety and compliance regulations
- Skilled in team development and performance management
- Familiarity with WMS and other information systems
Job Duties
- Ensure the development of systems and procedures for managing operations, equipment, and products in a safe and profitable manner
- Manage operations to meet prescribed productivity and service goals
- Drive company continuous improvement efforts and provide suggestions for operational efficiency and cost savings
- Meet all client specified KPIs and comply with quality system requirements
- Manage operations to achieve prescribed objectives including communication, motivation, supervision, counseling, and discipline
- Collaborate with HR on hiring, training, and professional development programs
- Deliver results by leveraging the skills of team members at the right time
- Keep senior management and clients informed of critical issues
- Plan daily work schedules and assign duties based on priorities and resources
- Review volume demands to plan warehouse space, supplies, equipment, and staffing
- Ensure effective training and adherence to SOPs
- Assess trainee progress and cultural fit
- Maintain high motivation to ensure customer satisfaction
- Provide ongoing growth opportunities for team members
- Support adherence to SOPs
- Conduct routine staff meetings
- Ensure proper training in information systems including WMS
- Manage necessary IT hardware and software purchases
- Stay informed on hardware and software technology changes
- Develop proficiency in client systems
- Manage high-level customer service standards
- Provide operational and administrative support to client accounts
- Maintain contact with functions and respond to requests
- Lead customer meetings to address issues
- Coordinate supplier and customer site visits
- Promote positive client relationships
- Support annual budget development
- Manage controls to meet service and performance goals within cost and profit parameters
- Ensure budgeting and pricing compliance
- Manage sanitation, maintenance, security, housekeeping, safety, and equipment programs including MHE
- Ensure team training on MHE
- Recommend new technology adoption
- Achieve safety goals including injury frequency ratings
- Conduct warehouse safety audits
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
- Work overtime as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Manage warehouse operations supervisors and support staff
