Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5 years in event management or hospitality
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership abilities
- Proficiency in relevant event management software
- Availability to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings
- Ability to lift up to 15 lbs as needed
- Must be able to sit up to 6 hours and walk or stand during working hours
Job Qualifications
- Previous catering or event operating experience
- Luxury hotel experience
- Forecasting experience
- Familiarity with food and beverage basics, menu planning, and private/group event coordination
- Effective communication skills with guests, management, and co-workers
- Knowledge of current event trends
- Computer proficiency with Delphi, Opera, Excel, and Microsoft Office
Job Duties
- Develop relationships with incoming groups and clients to ensure planning deadlines, revenue requirements, and hotel offerings are communicated clearly
- Provide clients with resources to plan effective meetings and events while encouraging increased food, beverage, and miscellaneous spend beyond contracted revenues
- Keep up with current event trends to provide creative setups, menus, and programming
- Track room block performance, routing instructions, and guestroom-related concessions for accurate onsite reporting and post-event billing
- Detail and distribute group information to operating departments via Banquet Event Orders and Group Resumes timely
- Participate in scheduled operations meetings to communicate pertinent information, changes, and pop-up details
- Foster strong relationships and effective communication with hotel departments to ensure success
- Liaise onsite between clients and departments for smooth program execution
- Adapt to onsite challenges and offer creative problem-solving solutions
- Conduct post-event meetings to discuss feedback, review billing, and facilitate rebooking
- Mentor fellow Meetings & Events team members
- Participate in weekly pace and monthly forecast reporting with accuracy goals
- Perform additional reporting duties as assigned
