Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years in event management or hospitality
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership abilities
  • Proficiency in relevant event management software
  • Availability to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings
  • Ability to lift up to 15 lbs as needed
  • Must be able to sit up to 6 hours and walk or stand during working hours

Job Qualifications

  • Previous catering or event operating experience
  • Luxury hotel experience
  • Forecasting experience
  • Familiarity with food and beverage basics, menu planning, and private/group event coordination
  • Effective communication skills with guests, management, and co-workers
  • Knowledge of current event trends
  • Computer proficiency with Delphi, Opera, Excel, and Microsoft Office

Job Duties

  • Develop relationships with incoming groups and clients to ensure planning deadlines, revenue requirements, and hotel offerings are communicated clearly
  • Provide clients with resources to plan effective meetings and events while encouraging increased food, beverage, and miscellaneous spend beyond contracted revenues
  • Keep up with current event trends to provide creative setups, menus, and programming
  • Track room block performance, routing instructions, and guestroom-related concessions for accurate onsite reporting and post-event billing
  • Detail and distribute group information to operating departments via Banquet Event Orders and Group Resumes timely
  • Participate in scheduled operations meetings to communicate pertinent information, changes, and pop-up details
  • Foster strong relationships and effective communication with hotel departments to ensure success
  • Liaise onsite between clients and departments for smooth program execution
  • Adapt to onsite challenges and offer creative problem-solving solutions
  • Conduct post-event meetings to discuss feedback, review billing, and facilitate rebooking
  • Mentor fellow Meetings & Events team members
  • Participate in weekly pace and monthly forecast reporting with accuracy goals
  • Perform additional reporting duties as assigned
