Job Requirements

  • Education or equivalent experience in culinary arts or related field
  • Proven culinary experience preferably in senior living healthcare or hospitality
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and nutritional guidelines
  • Ability to prepare meals according to special dietary requirements
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a cook or chef preferably within a senior living healthcare or hospitality setting
  • Comprehensive knowledge of culinary techniques food safety and nutrition
  • Ability to prepare a variety of meal types including special diets e g low-sodium diabetic-friendly
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork capabilities
  • Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and holidays
  • Culinary certification or degree is a plus

Job Duties

  • Prepare and serve meals that adhere to the nutritional guidelines and dietary restrictions of residents
  • Plan and create weekly menus in collaboration with the nutritionist and kitchen staff
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment in compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Monitor food inventory and coordinate with the kitchen manager to ensure a well-stocked pantry
  • Assist in the training and supervision of kitchen assistants to ensure smooth kitchen operations
  • Engage with residents to receive feedback on meal preferences and enhance the dining experience
  • Participate in community events and special dietary planning as needed
