Job Requirements
- Education or equivalent experience in culinary arts or related field
- Proven culinary experience preferably in senior living healthcare or hospitality
- Knowledge of food safety standards and nutritional guidelines
- Ability to prepare meals according to special dietary requirements
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
Job Qualifications
- Proven experience as a cook or chef preferably within a senior living healthcare or hospitality setting
- Comprehensive knowledge of culinary techniques food safety and nutrition
- Ability to prepare a variety of meal types including special diets e g low-sodium diabetic-friendly
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork capabilities
- Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and holidays
- Culinary certification or degree is a plus
Job Duties
- Prepare and serve meals that adhere to the nutritional guidelines and dietary restrictions of residents
- Plan and create weekly menus in collaboration with the nutritionist and kitchen staff
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment in compliance with health and safety regulations
- Monitor food inventory and coordinate with the kitchen manager to ensure a well-stocked pantry
- Assist in the training and supervision of kitchen assistants to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Engage with residents to receive feedback on meal preferences and enhance the dining experience
- Participate in community events and special dietary planning as needed
