Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, hotel and restaurant management, or related major preferred
- Minimum 5 years of sales experience in a luxury or upper upscale hotel environment
- At least 2-3 years of group sales experience
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written
- Proven sales track record
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Self-starter with excellent presentation skills
- Knowledge of Marriott sales systems
- Knowledge of industry sales systems
- Ability to travel
- High standards of personal appearance and grooming
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, hotel and restaurant management, or related major preferred
- Minimum 5 years sales experience in luxury or upper upscale hotel environment
- At least 2-3 years of group sales experience
- Proven track record of successful sales history
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong presentation skills
- Knowledge of Marriott sales systems including CI/TY
- Knowledge of industry systems such as Hotelligence
- Ability to work independently and handle confidential information with discretion
- Highly motivated and self-starting individual
Job Duties
- Solicit and become familiar with all accounts in specific market segments
- Prospect and close on assigned accounts to positively impact hotel revenues
- Identify and secure new business opportunities across corporate, association, social and SMERF group segments
- Maintain strong relationships with key clients, meeting planners, and industry partners
- Conduct professional site inspections of the hotel with clients, highlighting key features and benefits
- Develop full working knowledge of hotel operations including Food and Beverage, Guest Services, and Reservations
- Research, solicit and generate new leads through database research and proactive sales efforts
- Maintain and participate in active sales solicitation programs
- Monitor production of all top accounts and evaluate market trends
- Meet with potential clients to discuss needs, conduct property tours, negotiate rates and secure business
- Prepare sales contracts for confirmed bookings
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients by attending functions and networking events
- Entertain qualified clients per department guidelines
- Use Marriott sales systems to document and track business
- Work closely with operational teams to ensure event customer satisfaction
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming
- Abide by Prime Selling Time policies
