Job Requirements

  • At least two years of progressive hotel sales experience
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Problem-solving, reasoning, motivating, organizational and training abilities
  • Ability to travel including some overnight travel
  • Valid driver’s license in applicable state
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Delphi, and Opera systems preferred
  • Mathematical skills including basic math, budgeting, profit/loss concepts, percentages, and variances
  • Extended hours sometimes required
  • Ability to lift up to twenty pounds occasionally and ten pounds frequently

Job Duties

  • Develop new accounts, maintain existing accounts, and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue goals and maximize profits for the hotel while maintaining guest satisfaction
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key clients to produce group room sales
  • Regularly sell hotel rooms through direct client contact
  • Partner with hotel Director of Sales and Marketing (DOSM) and Revenue Management Team to maximize RevPAR opportunities in the local market
  • Achieve budgeted revenues and personal/team sales goals and maximize profitability within all areas of responsibility
  • Produce regular reports and sales forecasts
  • Identify operational challenges that impact marketing effectiveness and overall hotel sales performance and collaborate with department heads on solutions
  • Create and implement hotel-level tactical sales plans that drive incremental occupancy, increase average rates, and boost business volume during off-peak times
  • Enhance the hotel's image in the local community through memberships and participation
  • Deliver sales activities to ensure sales exceed revenue plans
  • Analyze market and sales trends and coordinate activities to increase revenue and market share
  • Coordinate with other hotel departments to facilitate services agreed upon with clients
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with local community officials and representatives
  • Act as Manager on Duty as required
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and alcohol service laws
  • Perform other duties as assigned
