Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 4 years experience in sales and marketing, guest services, front desk, or related professional area OR 2-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major
- 2 years experience in sales and marketing or related professional area
- preferred large group sales experience
- ability to negotiate contracts
- strong customer service orientation
- ability to work collaboratively with various departments
- excellent communication and organizational skills
- ability to manage multiple priorities
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED with 4 years sales and marketing experience or related field
- OR 2-year degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major with 2 years experience
- preferred large group sales experience
- strong negotiating and selling skills
- ability to analyze market trends and competitor strengths
- excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- proficiency in sales forecasting and budgeting
- experience in customer service excellence and relationship building
- knowledge of Marriott brand standards and service strategies
Job Duties
- Acts as the on-property liaison for group sales within peak room parameters
- contracts and closes group business
- conducts site inspections
- ensures timely and proper turnover of business for quality service delivery
- achieves group revenue goals by up-selling opportunities
- implements brand service strategy and initiatives
- builds and strengthens relationships with customers
- develops group sales revenue and operation budgets
- provides forecasting reports
- collaborates with management on marketing plans
- participates in promotional activities
- attends pre- and post-convention meetings
- handles guest issues from sales process
- monitors selling procedures to maximize room revenue
- verifies seamless turnover between sales and operations
- executes customer service standards
