Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 4 years experience in sales and marketing, guest services, front desk, or related professional area OR 2-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major
  • 2 years experience in sales and marketing or related professional area
  • preferred large group sales experience
  • ability to negotiate contracts
  • strong customer service orientation
  • ability to work collaboratively with various departments
  • excellent communication and organizational skills
  • ability to manage multiple priorities

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with 4 years sales and marketing experience or related field
  • OR 2-year degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major with 2 years experience
  • preferred large group sales experience
  • strong negotiating and selling skills
  • ability to analyze market trends and competitor strengths
  • excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • proficiency in sales forecasting and budgeting
  • experience in customer service excellence and relationship building
  • knowledge of Marriott brand standards and service strategies

Job Duties

  • Acts as the on-property liaison for group sales within peak room parameters
  • contracts and closes group business
  • conducts site inspections
  • ensures timely and proper turnover of business for quality service delivery
  • achieves group revenue goals by up-selling opportunities
  • implements brand service strategy and initiatives
  • builds and strengthens relationships with customers
  • develops group sales revenue and operation budgets
  • provides forecasting reports
  • collaborates with management on marketing plans
  • participates in promotional activities
  • attends pre- and post-convention meetings
  • handles guest issues from sales process
  • monitors selling procedures to maximize room revenue
  • verifies seamless turnover between sales and operations
  • executes customer service standards
