Job Requirements

  • must be a U.S. citizen or national of the U.S., an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence, or authorized to work in the U.S. for this employer
  • must be currently located in or willing to relocate to the job's geographic location
  • willingness to work Monday through Friday from 3 pm to 11:30 pm with some flexible Saturdays
  • ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced logistics environment
  • commitment to compliance with safety regulations and company policies
  • strong organizational and multitasking skills

Job Qualifications

  • bachelor's degree preferred
  • management experience required
  • knowledge of labor laws and collective bargaining agreements
  • strong leadership and communication skills
  • experience with logistics and freight forwarding operations
  • ability to analyze productivity and performance metrics
  • proficiency in using operational software and technology
  • problem-solving and process improvement capabilities

Job Duties

  • supervise and coordinate activities of union employees engaged in freight handling, shipping, receiving, documentation, and warehouse functions
  • plan labor and equipment needs based on daily volume and work schedules
  • ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements, company policies, and applicable labor laws
  • address performance issues, grievances, and discipline procedures in coordination with Human Resources and Labor Relations
  • maintain a safe work environment and enforce safety protocols and procedures
  • monitor productivity, accuracy, and compliance to meet service level goals
  • maintain daily reports, performance metrics, and documentation for operations and labor tracking
  • collaborate with other departments to resolve issues and ensure timely cargo movement
  • recommend process improvements and assist in implementing new operational procedures or technologies
