Job Requirements

  • Certified Dietary Manager Certification or Dietetic Service Supervisor Certificate or currently enrolled in related program with 2-year established completion date
  • Active ServeSafe certificate
  • Ability to practice safe food handling techniques
  • Physical ability to stand, bend, walk, reach, lift, push, and pull for prolonged time in hot or cold areas
  • Ability to adapt to fluctuating workloads and meet production schedules
  • Proficient computer skills for food management system operation and report generation
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication
  • Ability to train, coach, and evaluate staff effectively
  • Proactive approach to organizational improvement
  • Willingness to work at Ronald Reagan Medical Center and Santa Monica Hospital

Job Qualifications

  • Certified Dietary Manager Certification or Dietetic Service Supervisor Certificate or currently enrolled with established 2-year completion date

  • Ability to adjust to fluctuating workloads and adhere to production schedules
  • Computer skills to operate food management systems and generate memos and reports
  • Interpersonal skills for effective interaction with coworkers, customers, and management
  • Capability to provide effective timely training, coaching, and evaluation of staff
  • Proactive approach towards continuous organizational improvement
  • Experience working in hospital settings such as Ronald Reagan Medical Center and Santa Monica Hospital

Job Duties

  • Supervising, training, and evaluating food service supervisors and workers
  • Monitoring tray operations to ensure timely patient meal service
  • Coordinating cleaning, sanitation, and maintenance of equipment and work areas
  • Managing daily activities of the call center, running reports, and checking communication and tray pick-up logs
  • Performing ambassador and patient floor rounds
  • Making recommendations on service improvements
