Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent working knowledge
- ability to learn food handling regulations and pass certification tests as required
- two or more years of similar work experience in production cooking or food service
- effective interpersonal communication skills
- friendly customer service attitude
- ability to accurately calculate and count change rapidly and repetitively
- ability to function autonomously with good judgment and organizational skills
- food handlers card required within 30 days of hire for Banner Staffing Services team members
- willingness to work varied day or evening shifts including weekends and holidays
Job Qualifications

- strong knowledge of cooking principles
- ability to perform menu substitutions and recipe modifications
- effective interpersonal communication skills

- food handling certification as required
- additional related education and experience preferred
Job Duties
- Plans food production timing and quantities
- determines menu substitutions in case of shortage
- minimizes food waste with appropriate planning and tracking
- records food shortages and excess quantities
- prepares all food items according to standardized recipes
- adjusts recipe quantities for correct yields
- provides customer service meeting standards and guidelines
- responds to customer complaints and escalates issues when necessary
- accurately records sales in the Point of Sale System
- transacts payments and maintains cash registers
- runs reports to analyze sales and cash accuracy
- maintains par levels of food and supplies
- orders and restocks items
- rotates food stocks and checks freshness dates
- checks and logs food and equipment temperatures
- keeps assigned stations clean, well-stocked, and attractive
- cleans and sanitizes dishes, utensils, and kitchen areas
- may provide catering and special event services
- works under general supervision and resolves complex issues autonomously
