Job Requirements
- Possession of valid Food Handler Card issued by County of Riverside
- graduation from high school or equivalent
- at least one year of food preparation and serving experience
- ability to follow oral and written instructions
- legal authorization to work in the United States
- willingness to work flexible schedule
- valid California Driver's License may be required
- ability to maintain sanitation and safety standards in food service
- ability to supervise and train subordinate staff
- good communication skills
Job Qualifications
- Graduation from high school or attainment of satisfactory G.E.D. score
- one year of experience in food preparation and serving
- possession of valid Food Handler Card or Food Safety Manager Certification
- knowledge of food preparation and serving methods and equipment
- understanding of sanitation methods and food safety practices
- ability to read, comprehend and follow instructions in English
- ability to perform simple mathematical calculations
- ability to supervise, coordinate and inspect work of Food Service Workers
- skills in training and instructing others in food service techniques
- ability to maintain effective working relationships
Job Duties
- Follow standard recipes in the preparation of salads, desserts and baked goods
- serve food and drinks in cafeteria
- serve customers
- clean coffee pots, grill, counter, and cafeteria tables
- prepare coffee, toast, eggs, and sandwiches
- set up and serve special dinners
- push loaded food carts from kitchen to units or dining hall and return them
- operate dishwashing machine
- wash pots and pans
- prepare and serve patient meal trays using diet software
- take meal orders and assist patients with meal selection
- generate meal tickets for patients
- observe and inspect work of Food Service Workers ensuring safety and sanitation compliance
- provide technical supervision and training to Food Service Workers
- assist in supervision of tray line workers
- ensure accuracy of diet, portions, and presentation of food trays
- obtain and record temperature of food
- retrieve food items from supply room or refrigerator/freezer
- sweep and mop floors
- remove trash
- prepare and submit incident reports when necessary
