Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent working knowledge
- Must be able to learn food handling regulations and pass certification tests
- Two or more years of related work experience in production cooking
- Effective interpersonal communication skills
- Friendly customer service attitude
- Ability to calculate and handle cash rapidly and repetitively
- Ability to work autonomously with good judgment and organizational skills
- Food handlers card required within 30 days of hire for Banner Staffing Services team members
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two or more years of experience in production cooking or food service
- Knowledge of upscale food production and cooking principles
- Ability to perform menu substitutions and recipe modifications
- Effective interpersonal communication skills
- Friendly customer service attitude
- Ability to calculate and handle cash transactions accurately
- Ability to function autonomously with good judgment
- Experience with cashiering and POS systems preferred
- Additional related education or experience preferred
Job Duties
- Plan daily food production timing and quantities
- Determine menu substitutions in case of shortages
- Minimize food waste through planning and tracking
- Record food shortages and excess quantities
- Prepare food items according to standardized recipes
- Adjust recipe quantities for correct yields
- Notify supervisor of production problems
- Provide customer service meeting standards and guidelines
- Respond to customer complaints and assist with resolution
- Accurately record sales in the Point of Sale System
- Transact payments with customers
- Manage register cash and receivables according to policies
- Run sales and cash accuracy reports
- Maintain par levels of food and supplies
- Order and restock items following established routines
- Rotate food stocks and check freshness dates
- Check and log food and equipment temperatures
- Maintain cleanliness and attractiveness of work stations
- Clean and sanitize dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment
- Provide catering and special event services as needed
- Work autonomously with good judgment and organizational skills
- Interact professionally with patients, staff, visitors, and families
- Resolve customer issues at the point of contact
