Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent working knowledge
- ability to learn and pass food handling certification tests
- minimum two years of experience in production cooking or similar food service work
- understanding of cooking principles, menu substitutions, and recipe modifications
- strong customer service attitude and interpersonal communication skills
- ability to accurately calculate and handle cash
- capability to work autonomously and exercise good judgment
- availability to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays
- ability to pass food handlers card requirement within 30 days of hire for Banner Staffing Services team members
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- two or more years of experience in production cooking or food service
- knowledge of food handling and safety regulations
- ability to prepare food according to standardized recipes
- strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- experience with cashiering and handling cash transactions
- organizational skills and ability to work independently
- effective communication abilities
- preferred additional related education or experience
Job Duties
- Plan food production timing and quantities
- determine menu substitutions in case of shortages
- minimize food waste and track quantities
- prepare all food items according to standardized recipes
- adjust recipe quantities for correct yields
- provide exceptional customer service and respond to complaints
- perform cashiering duties and accurately record sales in the Point of Sale System
- maintain par levels of food and supplies, reorder and restock as needed
- check food and equipment temperatures and ensure safety compliance
- maintain cleanliness and attractiveness of assigned stations and kitchen areas
- clean and sanitize dishes, utensils, and equipment
- provide catering and special event services as required
- communicate effectively with patients, staff, visitors, and team members
- function autonomously and exercise good judgment in daily tasks
