Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in related field and three years of experience in food service management or equivalent education, training, or experience
- Food Safe Certification or ability to obtain within six months
- Experience in supervising culinary staff and managing kitchen operations
- Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays
- Capability to operate university vehicles for event logistics
- Physical ability to lift and move supplies
- Strong attention to detail for event execution
- Excellent customer service and hospitality skills
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience
- Extensive knowledge of catering, retail, and dining service operations
- Proven leadership skills with experience in staff training, supervision, and evaluation
- Ability to analyze problems and make effective decisions in food service management
- Knowledge of cost control and quality assurance techniques
- Familiarity with safety and security protocols in food service environments
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Job Duties
- Manage and execute catering events including deliveries, food and beverage breaks, seated plated events, receptions, galas, and cookouts
- Read and interpret Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and execute events using established processes and systems
- Ensure adherence to policies regarding time, attendance, uniform, and meal provisions
- Operate golf carts, vans, and light trucks to transport event materials, supplies, equipment, food, beverages, and staff
- Lift and load supplies following correct safety procedures
- Oversee multiple simultaneous catering events across varied locations
- Collaborate with other dining services operations including dining halls and retail outlets
- Maintain proficiency in event management software and employee management tools
