Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Several years of experience in institutional or large-scale food service cooking
  • Knowledge of leadership and mentoring principles
  • Understanding of ServSafe and HACCP standards
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English at a level necessary for job performance
  • Ability to maintain personal hygiene and comply with uniform standards

Job Qualifications

  • Experience in large-scale food preparation and cooking
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and procedures
  • Ability to lead and train kitchen staff
  • Skilled in menu planning and recipe conversion
  • Proficient in operating commercial kitchen equipment
  • Basic computer skills relevant to food service operations
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English

Job Duties

  • Prepare, bake and cook food in large quantities according to recipes and menu plans
  • Assist in supervising food service facilities and staff
  • Plan, assign, and review work of kitchen staff
  • Order and manage food supplies to meet menu requirements
  • Maintain sanitary and safe kitchen conditions following health regulations
  • Train and lead kitchen staff in proper food handling and cooking techniques
  • Comply with ServSafe and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point practices for food safety
