Job Requirements
- Ability to read and write at a level sufficient to perform assigned duties
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including standing, stooping, reaching, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds
- Willingness to work in varied environmental conditions including noise and extreme weather
- Must provide three current letters of reference or recommendation

- Knowledge of basic kitchen and food serving utensils and equipment
- Basic methods of food preparation
- Basic cleaning methods and procedures
- Ability to apply proper sanitation and safety practices in food handling
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to perform manual food preparation tasks requiring dexterity
- Ability to safely operate food preparation and serving equipment
- Physical capacity to perform tasks including lifting and standing for long periods
- Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships
Job Duties
- Prepare and assist in the preparation of meals such as sandwiches, salads, entrees, and desserts
- Slice, assemble, mix, stir, blend, and measure ingredients for food preparation
- Serve food and portion it according to established guidelines
- Set up serving counters, lines, tables, and food warmers with appropriate food items and supplies
- Clean serving counters, dining tables, food containers, beverage machines, fryers, and other kitchen equipment
- Clean and store trays, plates, utensils, pots, pans, and serving equipment
- Assist food service staff and student helpers to ensure timely, safe, and sanitary food preparation and service
