Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- two years of food and beverage management experience or equivalent
- one year of restaurant leadership in a hotel environment or equivalent
- strong computer skills
- financial knowledge
- manager alcohol awareness certification
- manager food service permit as required by local or state government
- strong oral and written communication skills
- ability to prioritize departmental functions
- attention to detail
- ability to manage team and resolve conflicts
Job Duties
- Approach all encounters with guests and team members in a friendly, service-oriented manner
- maintain regular attendance in compliance with Arlo Hotel standards
- maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming
- comply with all hotel standards and regulations for safe operations
- be visible and interact with guests and team members to provide high levels of quality service
- serve as ranking Manager on duty when Director is off site
- communicate all operational details to culinary team and managers
- manage reservations with host team ensuring accuracy
- organize all documentation for shift work including reports and labor management
- ensure all staff meet service standards
- monitor and test service skills of staff, provide retraining and reinforcement
- report on quality of managerial staff work
- take lead on scheduling hourly employees
- assist with payroll execution
- train and coach junior managers
- communicate team goals and operational changes consistently
- address performance issues respectfully and resolve conflicts
- provide feedback and appraisals
- monitor and maintain cleanliness and communicate safety issues
- attend interdepartmental meetings to ensure communication
- assist in developing marketing initiatives and new menu items
- assist in controlling budgeted revenues, payroll, and product costs
- ensure adherence to Accounting and People Services policies
- report grievances to Director of Food and Beverage or People Services
- assist with Micros programming
- monitor hotel activities and troubleshoot
- operate word processing programs
- perform cleaning tasks to meet health standards
- perform additional duties as assigned
