Job Requirements

  • High school diploma, equivalent degree, or higher required
  • Minimum two years in a managerial role at fine dining restaurant or hotel
  • Baseline knowledge of wine and spirits
  • Serve safe certificate or working on renewing current certificate
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work long hours as needed
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently
  • Ability to lift, pull 10, 25, 50 lbs
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
  • Ability to bend and kneel
  • Ability to make sound judgments quickly
  • Ability to handle stressful, high-pressure situations

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum two years in an Assistant Manager or Manager role at fine dining restaurant or hotel
  • Fine dining, wine, and beverage knowledge base
  • Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal formats
  • Serve safe certificate or working on renewing current certificate
  • Experience training and coaching restaurant staff
  • High school diploma, equivalent degree, or higher
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure
  • Strong sense of ownership in all tasks
  • Ability to train, motivate, and discipline staff

Job Duties

  • Manage the day-to-day operations, ensuring quality service standards are met and the guest experience is exceptional
  • Supervise daily shift operations working with Restaurant Managers, including assisting servers, server assistants, and hosts on the floor during meal periods
  • Create a positive atmosphere for guests by responding to all guest requests, problems, complaints, and/or accidents at all food and beverage outlets in an attentive, courteous, and efficient manner including follow up to ensure guest satisfaction
  • Maintain accurate payroll for all team members within the department, complying with deadlines to ensure proper hours, paid time off, and holidays are paid out correctly
  • Train, motivate, coach, counsel, and discipline all food and beverage team members according to hotel standards with supervision from the Restaurant General Manager
  • Prepare all food and beverage team member schedules according to the business forecast, payroll budget guidelines, and productivity requirements, submitting completed schedules to the General Manager and Human Resources when required
  • Uphold standards regarding purchase orders, voucher of invoices, and checkbook accounting according to Mainsail Lodging & Development standards
  • Control costs by conducting daily and monthly par checks and inventory to review portion control, reduce waste, and ensure no interruption of service
  • Participate in required meetings including departmental, staff, and manager meetings
  • Perform other necessary duties as reasonably assigned
