Job Requirements

  • Fifteen or more years of professional experience
  • Ten or more years in a senior culinary leadership role
  • Preferably experience in higher education or business dining
  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in culinary arts or equivalent
  • Proven leadership and team training abilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft programs
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Ability to manage labor and food costs
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work with diverse populations and meet special dietary needs

Job Qualifications

  • Fifteen or more years of professional experience with ten or more years in a senior culinary leadership role, preferably in higher education and/or business dining settings
  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in culinary arts or equivalent job-related experience
  • Proven ability to train others and lead a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft software programs
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Proficient skills in math and financial management including labor and food cost controls

Job Duties

  • Interact with and develop relationships with clients to provide personalized high quality culinary events
  • Provide culinary experiences for clients on and off premise with high level client guests
  • Work directly with students, parents, and culinary team to ensure food program meets individual needs including allergies and medical conditions
  • Visit dining areas to assess customer satisfaction and implement changes based on feedback
  • Develop cooperative relationships with key client personnel and staff
  • Respond to client, customer, and guest meal surveys and implement improvement plans
  • Model the Smile Plus hospitality imperatives
  • Assist with the development of annual budgets and work within budget goals
  • Control labor and food costs and make adjustments as necessary
  • Purchase food according to budget and approved guidelines
  • Prepare menu and food cost reports and review with general manager
  • Ensure proper food portions, monitor waste, and oversee food preparation to minimize waste
  • Supervise culinary team and ensure compliance with food production, service, and presentation standards
  • Train culinary staff in methods and techniques
  • Oversee kitchen operations to ensure smooth and efficient function
  • Perform related duties as assigned
