Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in journalism, public relations, communications, English, or related field
- Minimum two years of experience in writing and event planning
- Strong communication skills
- Strategic planning abilities
- Experience with digital media and social media management
- Familiarity with college student communities

Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Lead the planning and management of flagship events such as the Sulzberger Distinguished Lecture Series, Early Childhood Initiative Series, and School Research Partnership events
- Design and implement marketing plans, create promotional materials, manage event calendars and registration systems, and coordinate with the Sanford School Communications team
- Create and manage event budgets, negotiate contracts with vendors, and ensure compliance with Duke policies
- Supervise event personnel, provide audio-visual support, and manage staffing schedules to ensure smooth execution
- Serve as liaison to high-level speakers and guests, representing the Center professionally and fostering relationships with partners
- Plan and manage internal events such as all-center meetings, certificate student graduations, and staff gatherings
- Partner with other Duke units to co-host events and support strategic initiatives
- Support ad hoc projects and contribute to strategic planning for high-profile initiatives
