Job Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in technical theatre production, recreation, public administration, event management, or related field
  • Five to seven years' experience in theatrical production management, event management, or related field
  • Ability to use computer-aided drafting (CAD) and relevant live entertainment software
  • Ability to provide direction to others for safe and correct operation of tools and equipment
  • Ability to read and comprehend technical riders, stage plots, and drafts
  • Ability to organize and maintain event documentation, schedules, records, and files
  • Ability to work flexible hours including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to remain resilient and calm under pressure
  • Ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment

Job Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree in Technical Theatre Production, Recreation, Public Administration, Event Management, or related field
  • Five to seven years' experience in theatrical production management, event management, or related field
  • Knowledge of standard practices and methods of theatrical and live entertainment
  • Proficiency in lighting and sound for live entertainment
  • Basic understanding of rigging and fly rail systems
  • Familiarity with mathematical and electrical power concepts
  • Understanding of occupational hazard and safety principles and practices
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations
  • Competency in modern office practices and computer applications such as word processing, database, and spreadsheet programs
  • Customer service skills
  • Coaching, training, and leadership abilities
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills

Job Duties

  • Plan, organize logistics, and manage event operational activities particularly for large, high priority RCC events
  • Provide oversight of resource scheduling, staffing, production coordination, and marketing activities
  • Fulfill and review contract requirements and occasionally negotiate fees and expenditures with clients
  • Perform administrative events management duties including preparing schedules, maintaining schedule changes, conducting planning meetings, preparing estimates and work orders, and monitoring budgeting and contractual agreements
  • Build and maintain positive relationships and communication with venue users
  • Serve as a key facility liaison to clients regarding all event planning and advancement
  • Disseminate event information to internal departments, outside partners, contractors, and key stakeholders
  • Meet with clients to gather event details and requirements
  • Collaborate on scheduling, event layout, and logistics
  • Review and verify requirements and safety procedures
  • Serve as the event manager on duty for assigned events
  • Investigate and resolve client and customer complaints in-person
  • Serve as a lead in assigning tasks and monitoring work completion
  • Supervise staff including coordinating training
