Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • two years experience in event management or related professional area
  • or two-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major
  • full-time availability
  • management position experience preferred
  • ability to work onsite at The Westin Irving Convention Center at Las Colinas
  • excellent communication skills
  • strong organizational and multitasking abilities

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • two years of experience in event management or related professional area
  • or two-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major with no work experience required
  • strong problem-solving skills
  • excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • experience managing budgets and maximizing revenue
  • leadership skills with ability to recognize team contributions
  • customer service orientation
  • ability to participate in sales processes and customer site inspections
  • proficiency in coordinating with multiple departments

Job Duties

  • Solve problems or suggest alternatives to previous arrangements if necessary
  • lead pre-event and post-event meetings for assigned groups
  • identify operational challenges and work with staff and customers to develop solutions
  • manage customer budgets to maximize revenue and meet needs
  • oversee customer experiences from file turnover through post-event until turnover back to sales
  • conduct pre- and post-event meetings to review and communicate group needs and feedback
  • manage group room blocks and meeting spaces for assigned groups
