Job Requirements
- 4 years experience in event management with an emphasis on leadership preferred
- high school diploma or equivalent required
- knowledge of food, beverage, audio visual, room sets and menu planning required
- strong multiple-project management skills
- excellent communication skills written and oral
- good listening skills and problem-solving ability
- basic mathematical skills
- flexibility to work varying schedules
- ability to handle guest and employee concerns in a friendly and positive manner
- excellent interpersonal, listening and communication skills including English language proficiency
- ability to sit, stand and move to perform essential functions
- knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
- knowledge of Marriott systems including CI/TY preferred
- high degree of accuracy and detail orientation
- ability to promptly respond to requests and provide hotel tours
- hearing and visual acuity to detect emergencies
- telephone etiquette skills
- professional, well-groomed and courteous representation of company
- attendance at catering, food and beverage and department head meetings as required.
