Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Two years experience in event management or related professional area
- OR Two-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to manage budgets and maximize revenue
- Experience coordinating complex events
- Ability to lead and support cross-department teams
- Willingness to work full time and on site at W Minneapolis - The Foshay
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED with 2 years of experience in event management or related professional area
- OR 2-year degree from accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related field with no required work experience
- Proven ability to manage complex events and client relationships
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Experience with budgeting and revenue management
- Ability to lead meetings and coordinate multiple departments
- Familiarity with event planning software and tools
- Demonstrated customer service excellence and team collaboration
Job Duties
- Prepares all event documentation and coordinates with Sales, property departments and customers
- Handles complex events and ensures seamless turnover from sales to service and back
- Recognizes opportunities to maximize revenue by upselling and offering enhancements
- Supports and acts on behalf of the Director of Event Management or Director of Event Planning and Operations in their absence
- Serves as the primary contact on property for assigned events ensuring a high level of customer experience
- Leads pre-event and post-event meetings to review and communicate group needs and feedback
- Manages customer budgets, group room blocks, meeting spaces, and customer experiences from file turnover through post-event phase
- Participates in customer site inspections and supports sales process when necessary
- Manages revenue, forecasts event profitability, and reviews billing and payments with clients
- Handles guest problems and complaints and follows up post-event to improve service levels
- Coordinates and communicates verbally and in writing with customers regarding event details
- Celebrates team successes and recognizes contributions
