Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 2 years experience in event management or related professional area, or 2-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major

- High school diploma or GED with 2 years experience in event management or related area
- Or associate degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration or related major with no work experience required
- Proven experience managing complex events
- Strong problem solving and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to manage budgets and maximize revenue
- Proficiency in coordinating multiple tasks and teams
- Ability to provide exceptional customer service and handle guest issues professionally
Job Duties
- Prepare all event documentation and coordinate with sales, property departments and customers to ensure consistent, high level service
- Handle complex events and ensure seamless turnover from sales to service
- Recognize opportunities to maximize revenue by up-selling and offering enhancements
- Support and act on behalf of the Director of Event Management or Director of Event Planning and Operations in their absence
- Serve as the event planner's primary contact on property during event phases and manage customer experiences from file turnover through post-event
- Lead pre-event and post-event meetings
- Identify operational challenges and collaborate with staff and customers to resolve issues
- Manage customer budgets, room blocks, and meeting spaces
- Adhere to all standards, policies, and procedures
- Up-sell products and services during the event process
- Participate in customer site inspections and assist in sales
- Act as liaison between field sales personnel and customers throughout the event lifecycle
- Manage revenue and profitability for events
- Forecast group sleeping rooms and event revenue
- Review billing and payments with clients
- Provide exceptional customer service by interacting with guests, handling complaints, and following up post-event
- Coordinate and communicate effectively with internal and external customers regarding event details
