Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 2 years experience in event management or related professional area
- Or 2-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work full time at W Philadelphia location
- Proficient in coordinating complex events
- Ability to handle guest complaints and resolve issues effectively
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED with 2 years experience in event management or related field
- Or 2-year degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration or related major with no work experience required
- Strong leadership and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Proven ability to manage budgets and maximize revenue
- Demonstrated customer service excellence
- Ability to handle multiple complex events simultaneously
- Knowledge of event planning and operations software and tools
- Capable of coordinating across diverse teams and departments
- Experience in sales support related to event management
Job Duties
- Prepare all event documentation and coordinate with sales, property departments and customers
- Lead pre-event and post-event meetings for assigned groups
- Identify operational challenges and develop alternative solutions
- Manage customer budgets to maximize revenue and meet needs
- Oversee customer experiences from file turnover through post-event phase
- Conduct pre- and post-event meetings to review needs and feedback
- Manage group room blocks and meeting spaces
- Adhere to all standards, policies and procedures
- Celebrate successes and recognize team contributions
- Up-sell products and services throughout event process
- Participate in customer site inspections and assist with sales process
- Act as liaison between field sales person and customer during event process
- Manage revenue and profitability associated with events
- Forecast group sleeping rooms and event revenue
- Review billing and payments with clients
- Interact with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service
- Handle guest problems and complaints
- Make presence known to customers during entire event process
- Follow up with customers post-event
- Greet customers during event phase and hand off to Event Operations team
- Strive to improve service performance
- Set a positive example for guest relations
- Review comment cards and guest satisfaction results with associates
- Coordinate and communicate verbally and in writing with customers regarding event details
