Job Requirements
- Minimum of one to two years event management experience strongly preferred
- High school diploma or GED required or two-year degree in relevant field
- Experience in hospitality/event management environment
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work full time onsite at The Westin Cape Coral Resort
- Willingness to support team and guest needs during events
- Ability to handle stressful situations with professionalism
- Proficient in coordinating event logistics and client relations
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two years experience in event management or related professional area
- Or two-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, or Business Administration
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage complex event details and logistics
- Excellent organizational and budget management skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with sales teams and property departments
- Customer service orientation
- Problem-solving skills
- Ability to forecast revenue and manage profitability
Job Duties
- Prepare all event documentation and coordinate with sales, property departments, and customers
- Lead pre-event and post-event meetings for assigned groups
- Manage customer budgets to maximize revenue and meet customer needs
- Oversee customer experiences from file turnover through post-event phase
- Conduct pre- and post-event meetings to review and communicate group needs and feedback
- Manage group room blocks and meeting space for assigned groups
- Adhere to all standards, policies, and procedures
- Up-sell products and services throughout the event process
- Participate in customer site inspections and assist with sales process when necessary
- Act as liaison between field salesperson and customer during event process
- Manage revenue and profitability associated with events
- Forecast group sleeping rooms and event revenue (catering and audiovisual)
- Review billing and payments with clients
- Interact with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels
- Handle guest problems and complaints
- Follow up with customers post-event
- Greet customers during event phase and hand-off to Event Operations team
- Set positive example for guest relations
- Review comment cards and guest satisfaction results with associates
- Coordinate and communicate verbally and in writing with customers regarding event details
