Job Requirements
- bachelor's degree in hospitality, business, facility management or related field
- minimum 3 years experience in the hospitality industry and/or customer service
- minimum 3 years event planning, meeting planning, or production experience
- ability to work extended, irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays
- physical ability to walk and/or stand up to 8-10 hours daily
- ability to maneuver around convention center
- ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- ability to use event booking and scheduling software after training
- must be energetic, forward-thinking and possess high ethical standards
- strong computer skills
- ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- willingness to provide exceptional customer service
- must portray a professional image and attitude
Job Qualifications
- bachelor's degree in hospitality, business, facility management or related field
- minimum 3 years experience in the hospitality industry and/or customer service
- minimum 3 years event planning, meeting planning, or production experience
- preferred certified meeting planner (CMP)

Job Duties
- assist with supervision of event managers and event coordinators
- meet with customer to plan and organize assigned meetings and/or events
- coordinate activities with various service contractors for assigned meetings and/or events
- in absence of director of event management assign events to event management team
- provide exceptional customer service, hospitality, and prompt attention to customer needs
- provide timely and accurate information necessary to produce the event
- manage multiple events and phases of event production
- act as key contact with the customer for communication and logistical requirements from planning process through event execution
- implement facility rules, regulations, policies and procedures
- anticipate problems and appropriate solutions
- review and approve all event requirements prior to distribution at weekly staff meetings
- guide customer in preparation of events by interpreting and explaining contract provisions, policies, and procedures
- inform customer on status of deadline schedules including floor plan submissions, meeting room set-up specifications, insurance requirements and other relevant details
- provide clear, concise, and timely communication of detailed requirements to operational departments and assist in scheduling operational set-ups
- monitor and supervise facility set-up as required
- assist in training event services staff
- serve as primary or secondary liaison between customers and facility departments
- monitor in-house events maintaining close contact with customers and facility staff to ensure successful events
- attend appropriate planning, organization and other event and facility meetings in support of facility operations
- support the department's secondary event manager program
- be accessible through email, phone, or cell phone 24 hours per day including holidays in event of emergency impacting assigned events
- collaborate with the Pennsylvania Convention Visitors Bureau, contractors, and internal partners
- manage event related decisions based on PCC/ASM Global policies and procedures
- maintain awareness and knowledge of surroundings to prevent accidents on exhibit hall floor
- ensure availability of PCC/ASM Global equipment contracted for customer use
- serve as manager on duty as required
- work extended and irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
- promote and fulfill ASM Global goals and brand promise
- participate in safety programs to achieve safety goals
- assist department and organization with various projects and special assignments as needed
- assist event team with covering primary, secondary shifts and event floor manager responsibilities including interaction with exhibitors and administrative duties related to events
- perform other duties as assigned by Director of Event Management and Business Analysis
