Job Requirements

  • bachelor's degree
  • minimum 3-5 years event planning experience
  • ability to work independently
  • experience interfacing with public
  • ability to maintain confidentiality with discretion
  • strong written and verbal communication
  • proficiency in microsoft office (word, excel, powerpoint)
  • ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • analytical judgment skills

Job Qualifications

  • bachelor's degree
  • 3-5 years experience in event planning
  • degree in marketing, public relations, communications or related field preferred
  • experience in academic or non-profit environments preferred
  • strong written and verbal communication skills
  • proficiency in microsoft office
  • familiarity with ems, social tables, and cvent a plus
  • ability to maintain confidentiality
  • strong attention to detail
  • analytical judgment and decision-making skills
  • ability to prioritize competing demands
  • high level of autonomy and initiative

Job Duties

  • plan and execute mid- and high-level events supporting university mission
  • create and manage event budgets
  • produce event timelines
  • coordinate with event sponsors on all program aspects
  • lead law commencement planning including staff volunteer coordination
  • manage conferences, symposia, faculty events, orientations, reunions, receptions, dinners, and special events
  • provide leadership and guidance to event coordinator and assistant
  • support other event team members on complex large-scale events
