Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience or Master's degree with minimum 6 years of relevant experience
  • U.S. citizenship required
  • Eligibility for U.S. Government security clearance
  • Strong understanding of environmental, health and safety laws and regulations
  • Ability to perform internal audits for management systems such as ISO14001 and ISO45001
  • Experience with OSHA and EPA compliance programs
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of electrical safety and lockout/tagout protocols
  • Ability to lead and coordinate emergency response activities
  • Self-starter with leadership potential

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent with at least 8 years of relevant experience
  • Master's degree with at least 6 years of relevant experience
  • Professional registration such as PE, CIH, or CSP considered a plus but not required
  • Strong knowledge of environmental, health and safety regulations
  • Experience implementing and auditing ISO14001 and ISO45001 management systems
  • Proven ability to conduct internal compliance audits
  • Skilled in developing and delivering OSHA and EPA training
  • Strong judgment and decision-making skills
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Competent in electrical safety and lockout/tagout regulatory requirements
  • Knowledge of general emergency procedures and coordination with emergency services
  • Experience in leading safety committees and emergency response roles

Job Duties

  • Develops, implements, and monitors company environmental, health and safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
  • Oversee site EHS Management System to include support of internal/external audits and assure EHS management systems standards (ISO14001/45001) are properly implemented
  • Monitors environmental, health and safety compliance to permits/licenses and maintains liaison with appropriate regulatory agencies
  • Reviews and approves chemical usage and required safeguards
  • Maintains EHS equipment inventory, performs periodic inspections, and oversight of EHS requirements
  • Develops and reviews job safety analyses (JSAs)
  • Interacts with a variety of departments on all EHS matters
  • Conducts training in OSHA and EPA program areas relevant to site activities
  • Investigates and recommends corrective actions for environmental, health and safety hazards
  • Develops, implements, coordinates and manages full scope environmental, health and safety compliance programs including Respiratory Protection, Hearing Conservation, Inert Gases, Ventilation, Electrical Safety/LOTO, powered industrial vehicles, and cranes/hoists
  • Experienced in workplace ergonomics
  • Assists in planning physical changes to facilities to meet new EHS requirements
  • Oversees management of change program for EHS impacts
  • Leads site EHS Committee
  • Serves as Radiation and Laser Safety Officer
  • Participates/leads in emergency situations as an Emergency Coordinator
  • Oversees/coordinated third party support for industrial hygiene monitoring and OSHA medical monitoring
