Job Requirements
- Minimum of 7 years experience managing events in a theater, arena, or similar live-event venue
- At least 5 years in a senior director or executive-level leadership role
- Proven ability to lead large, cross-functional teams
- Strong working knowledge of technical theater, audio, lighting, and production systems
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to solve practical problems and handle unique client or staffing issues
- Must be able to pass background check
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and safety regulations
- Physical ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods
- Ability to work under pressure
- Ability to see and read from lists, diagrams, and colored schematics
Job Qualifications
- Demonstrated progression of leadership and responsibility in live events or venue operations
- Minimum of 7 years' experience managing events in a theater, arena, or similar live-event venue
- At least 5 years in a senior director or executive-level leadership role
- Proven ability to lead large, cross-functional teams and manage complex, high-profile events
- Strong working knowledge of technical theater, audio, lighting, and production systems
- Strong leadership skills
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in Event Management, Theater Management, Business Management or related field
- Master’s degree preferred in a relevant field
Job Duties
- Lead the planning and execution of all events ensuring alignment with organizational goals and partner requirements
- Oversee all aspects of Event Services Department staff including managers, coordinators, stagehands, and production technicians
- Delegate event coordination responsibilities and communicate assignments to Toyota Arena and ONT Field staff
- Prepare pre-contract labor and equipment estimates and relevant documentation
- Manage production equipment scheduling, usage, and maintenance
- Develop and train staff on proper transportation and use of production equipment
- Maintain venue technical specifications and production riders
- Create and adjust third-party labor schedules
- Develop hiring procedures and training for stagehand and technical production staff
- Manage and produce in-house and venue-initiated events
- Coordinate event requirements with promoters and internal teams throughout event lifecycle
- Ensure sponsors' contractual amenities are met
- Lead weekly production meetings to review past and upcoming events
- Coordinate external contract equipment and labor delivery and setup
- Serve as facility representative during events and enforce policies
- Supervise back of house operations including stagehands, security, and changeover crew
- Manage guest services staffing to balance customer service, safety, and security
- Manage event budgets and complete settlement documents
- Communicate event requirements to marketing for scoreboard and video equipment
- Prepare event floor plans ensuring compliance with fire, safety, and building codes
- Collect and prepare settlements including labor and equipment costs
- Ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements, labor laws, and venue policies
- Coordinate across departments such as operations, security, guest services, IT, food and beverage, sales, marketing, box office, and facilities
- Lead event risk assessments and operational readiness reviews
- Coordinate emergency response planning with security, city agencies, and first responders
- Partner with facilities and IT on lifecycle planning and technology deployment
- Analyze post-event data to drive operational improvements
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and operational excellence
- Perform other duties as assigned
