Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent experience
- Three years of experience in a business area specific production environment
- Three years of manufacturing leadership experience
- Ability to obtain and maintain Certified Food Safety Manager certification
- Strong managerial and leadership skills
- Willingness to work a variable schedule including nights, holidays, and weekends
- Ability to be on call 24 hours, seven days per week
- Ability to travel with overnight stays
- Communication skills in both written and verbal format
- Knowledge of Microsoft applications including Excel, Access, Outlook, Word
- Knowledge of OSHA requirements
- Knowledge of manufacturing processing equipment
- Knowledge of production equipment cleaning, sanitation, preventative maintenance, repair and troubleshooting
- Knowledge of Food Safety and Good Manufacturing Practices
- Ability to be innovative

Job Duties
- Planning, implementing, and maintaining production processes within the production department
- Serving as the backup to the General Manager or Production Operations Manager in their absence
- Executing the capital plan and ensuring optimal use of capital, talent and assets
- Ensuring food quality and food safety within the production department including HACCP, Safe Quality Foods, and Good Manufacturing Practices
- Ensuring associate safety by complying with OSHA safety regulations
- Developing, training, and mentoring production department staff and associates including participating in interview and selection process, executing and training on Publix policies, motivating and building morale, and evaluating performance
- Identifying and ensuring execution of continuous improvement opportunities to improve associate productivity and asset productivity
- Providing input to the development of the operating budget and achieving performance goals including payroll and materials
